If you haven’t heard, Truenorth is hosting their first annual Film Festival, along with a full out red-carpet Gala event (think Grammy’s meets Golden Globes meets VMA’s).  Form a team of high school students and email Evan@gfc.tv to officially register. The  movie-making process will start on Feb. 21st, and then the Gala is Friday night, March 5th. No matter what your level of experience is, you can and should participate. So register today!

By far the most insane thing Erin and I have ever done. We made the jump about an hour outside Sydney, Australia from 14,000 feet in the air. It was a really cloudy day, and we actually were not supposed to jump b/c the clouds were too low, but the team was not able to communicate with the pilot in time. As you jump out of the plane, you “freefall” for 60 seconds (SOOO INSANE) and then the parachute opens. Then we were literally flying in the middle of a cloud, feeling the water particles brushing against our faces. Pretty amazing way to bring in the New year!

How powerful it is to hear Colt McCoy remain faithful and trusting God, right after one of the greatest disappointments a college athlete could ever experience. If you don’t follow college football, McCoy has been an extremely successful starting quarterback for the University of Texas the last 4 years, but this game was his first shot at a National Championship (and his last game in Texas uniform). All of his hard work over the last 4 years led up to this point in his career, an opportunity to have a perfect end to a stellar college career. Everything changed on his very first drive of the championship game, when he took a hit on his shoulder that would not allow for him to return to the game. Hearing his faith and trust in God in the midst of this untimely injury is extremely powerful, and demonstrates that even in times of disappointment, God is still good and worthy to be praised.

This is a ridiculously funny video that seeks to capture the essence of a youth pastor.  I hope I’m not this guy, but I have to say there are some similarities. especially if you’ve been around youth ministry, I think you’ll enjoy this.

If you are married and feel like you need some intentional time to get away with your spouse, I’d highly recommend the marriage retreats at the Winshape center in Rome, Ga. If you are a high schooler, then I’m pretty sure you are not married, and thus do not need to go on a marriage retreat.
