A Journey Through Luke…via Luke Journals
This semester at Truenorth, we are doing something this world has never seen before. Well, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but seriously, this is huge. Over the last two months, the Grace Student ministry team has been working around the clock to create the official “Luke Journals” that will be sold at Grace on Sundays & Wednesdays (only $5 – cheaper than Chick-fil-a). These journals will unite all of us, not only on Sunday mornings, but every day of the week. The goal is simple: for each of us to read the entire book of Luke, starting today and finishing up on Easter Sunday. The purpose behind the goal is also simple: we want to become better, more consistent Bible readers, so that we may know Jesus more intimately and make Him known to others more effectively.
This journal is special because it not only provides a daily Bible passage to read, but it also teaches you how to really study the Bible deeply. The first several pages of the journal are devoted to teaching you how to use the “Inductive method.” Followers of Jesus have been using this method for years and years, and we believe if you choose to engage in this, the power of God’s Word is going to come alive to you more than ever.
I personally want to challenge every single one of you- whether you are new to the church or a “Grace-vet,” whether you are in a D-group or not, whether you are spiritually hungry or not – Take this Journey through Luke with us! Commit to carving out 15-30 minutes every day to study the Bible and spend time with Jesus. You may feel intimidated by the Bible, or you may feel like you’ve “been there done that.” No matter where you are on the spectrum, I want to remind you that God wants to meet you right where you are at. His promise is true for every single one of us – If we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, then everything else is going to be provided for and we will be satisfied (see Matt. 6:33 and 2 Peter 1:3). So let’s do it together!
